What to See: Start With the Problem You Have
About a thousand companies exhibit at WEFTEC. Sixteen of the thirty lines we represent will have a booth on the exhibition floor this year, grouped below by the problem they solve — start with the one you came to fix, and your route builds itself.

Your headworks is passing rags and grit downstream
Everything downstream pays for what headworks lets through. If your crew is pulling rags off pumps, clearing a channel by hand, or watching grit accumulate where it should not, the conversation is about screening capture and about what can physically be retrofitted into the channel you already have. Ask about retrofit geometry early — it eliminates options faster than anything else.

Your blowers are eating power, or you can't hold DO in August
Aeration is usually the largest electrical load at the plant, and summer is when the margin disappears. Two different conversations live here: the machine (blower type, turndown, controls) and the transfer (diffuser type, condition, fouling). Bring your actual low-flow night numbers, not the design point — that is where the differences show up.

Your dewatering is aging out and hauling costs are climbing
Dewatering is where an operating budget quietly gets eaten. Every point of cake solids you gain is volume you do not pay to haul, so the equipment conversation and the hauling contract conversation are the same conversation. What happens either side of the press belongs here too — what you do to the sludge before it arrives changes what the press can achieve, and getting cake out of the building is its own problem again. Bring a recent sludge characterisation if you have one; without it nobody can tell you anything useful, and the honest vendors will say so.

You need more capacity and you don't have more land
When the fence line is fixed, capacity has to come out of footprint. That is either a higher-rate process in the same area, or getting more out of the tankage you already have rather than pouring new concrete — new internals in an existing basin, or a cover over one that is causing you a second problem. Every one of those paths has a real trade-off in operator workload, and the trade-off is usually the part that does not make it into the brochure.
