Oxidation Ditch Alternative Under 2 MGD
Membrane Bioreactors, Bio-Wheel IFAS Aeration, Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration and Reverse Osmosis
H2O Innovation was founded in 2000 in Quebec City, Canada, through the acquisition of Darv-Eau Inc., and remains headquartered there. Its Water Technologies and Services division designs, fabricates and assembles membrane systems on an open-platform model that lets a client use multiple membrane products over the life of a plant. The company reports over 750 installed water, wastewater and water reuse systems using membrane filtration and separation technologies and operates more than 275 municipal and industrial systems in Canada and the USA.
Skid fabrication, welding, piping spools, UL-certified panel assembly, PLC programming and factory acceptance testing are done in-house at Ham-Nord, Quebec and Minneapolis, Minnesota, with couplings, chemical production and membrane autopsy at Vista, California. Certifications listed by the company include NSF/ANSI 60, 61 and 419, UL, CSA, ASME, AWWA, CWB, AWS and CRN.
Rotating IFAS aerator for activated sludge basins. Patented polypropylene plates trap air as the wheel turns and carry fixed-film biomass, so no process blowers are needed; the OEM cites 1/3 less power than conventional or SBR plants, and a wheel lifts out without dewatering.
Membrane bioreactor platform, launched 2015, that runs hollow-fiber, flat-sheet or ceramic modules from different suppliers on one set of tanks and piping, so membrane replacement is bid competitively. Delivered as a site build, packaged steel-tank plant or containerized plant.
Standardized pressurized UF/MF rack, launched 2013, sized to accept two, three or more module types so an owner can rebid membrane replacement instead of holding one brand for the life of the plant. Supplied from pilot units to multi-train drinking water and reuse facilities.
Pairs MBR solids separation with Bio-Wheel rotation for process aeration, offsetting the energy of membrane air scour while holding membrane effluent quality. OEM brochure typical effluent: BOD under 5 mg/L, TSS under 5 mg/L, ammonia under 0.5 mg/L, phosphorus under 0.5 mg/L.
Level-based vertical MBR for 100 to 2,000 people (5,000 to 25,000 gpd) with six moving parts and minimal automation. 2 mm fine screens, anoxic and aerobic zones and passive membrane filtration stack in one tank, with serviceable equipment in an enclosure at grade.
Nanofiltration and reverse osmosis trains for drinking water, reuse and desalination, engineered from membrane projections for TDS, TOC, hardness, iron, manganese, arsenic and boron removal. OsmoFLEX packaged skids cover 75 to 500 gpm per train with an Allen-Bradley PLC.
