Founder of the Turbo Blower Industry
High-Speed Turbo Blowers, Magnetic Bearing Blowers, 1.1MW Turbo Blowers, Aeration Control Systems, MBR Aeration
APG-Neuros (APGN, Inc.) designs and manufactures high-speed turbo blowers and aeration systems for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. Founded in 2005, the company describes itself as the force behind the successful introduction of high-speed turbo blower technology in the wastewater treatment markets of North America, Western Europe and the Middle East, with more than 1,900 units installed in North America and Europe and more than 8,000 worldwide. Its headquarters and engineering facility are in Blainville, Quebec, and its manufacturing and testing facility is in Plattsburgh, New York. Products carry the CSA, UL and CE marks.
The product line spans the NX Series turbo blowers on oil-free bump foil air bearings, the APGN Series on active magnetic bearings, a 1.1 MW single-motor turbo blower, a gas turbine blower fired on biogas or natural gas, and a Master Control Panel based aeration control system with model predictive control. Support runs through a 24/7 customer service line, a network of factory-trained field service engineers and a stocked spare parts program.
Single-stage high-speed turbo blowers, NX30 to NX1000D, for activated sludge and digester aeration. The bump foil air bearing is oil-free and non-contact, so only the air filters need periodic service. Fact sheet: 4-15 psig, 250-23,000 SCFM, 30-1000 HP.
Single-stage turbo blowers, APGN500 to APGN1000D, on SKF active magnetic bearings for plants that need larger frames than the NX line. Motor and VFD ship in one hermetic enclosure with water or air cooling. Fact sheet: 5-15 psig, 4,000-13,000 SCFM, 470-940 HP.
One 1,100 kW / 1500 HP permanent magnet motor on an active magnetic bearing, built to replace large geared single-stage blowers at big plants. Built-in PLC, closed-loop cooling, medium voltage option. Fact sheet: 6-16 psig, 10,500-43,000 SCFM. UL listed May 2024.
Master Control Panel that runs the turbo blowers plus the DO, airflow and modulating valve loops of every aeration zone from one interface. Optional model predictive control uses machine learning software to set zone DO targets and SRT with minimal air supply.
High-speed turbo blowers supplying process and membrane scour air at MBR plants, where a membrane replaces the secondary clarifier. APG-Neuros was among the first to put turbo blowers into MBR service with GE, Evoqua and Koch systems and reports more than 110 units.
